The political process

In order to re-regulate the pharmacy market a parliamentary resolution is required. A resolution is based on a bill put before Parliament by the Government. This is preceded by a bill proposal submitted to the Council on Legislation by the Government.

Following the Council on Legislation’s scrutiny and viewpoints, the final bill is drawn up. The bill is discussed in Parliament by the relevant committees with any proposals from the Opposition. A report containing committee proposals is then put before the House where the content is debated and a decision taken.
